About Haley:
Oboist Haley Hoffman is an active freelance musician in the Bay Area. She recently finished her post-graduate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Eugene Izotov and Russ deLuna. In the Bay Area, Haley frequently performs with several orchestras, including the San Francisco Symphony, Berkeley Symphony, Symphony San Jose, and the California Symphony. A particularly notable performance was when Haley played English Horn with the San Francisco Symphony in their 2025 performances of Shostakovich Symphony No. 10.
In her summers, Haley has performed at a variety of music festivals. In the summer of 2025, Haley attended the Aspen Music Festival and School, studying with Elaine Douvas, Mingjia Liu, Nicholas Stovall and Cassie Pilgrim. Haley also attended the Sarasota Music Festival in 2025, where she studied with Nathan Hughes, Toyin Spellman-Diaz, and Dr. Jung Choi.
In the summers of 2022 and 2023, Haley was invited to be an Oboe Fellow at the Music Academy of the West, where she studied with Eugene Izotov and Xiomara Mass. At MAW, Haley was named the recipient of the Marcia Weiss Scholarship, in loving memory of David Weiss. In the summer of 2024, Haley played second oboe to Laura Griffiths in the Midsummer Mozart Music Festival, and attended the Colorado College Music Festival, where she studied with Robert Walters. In previous summers, Haley has attended the Hidden Valley Music Seminars with Elaine Douvas and Robert Walters.
Haley earned her Masters Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Jeffrey Rathbun. In her time at CIM, Haley also had the chance to study with Frank Rosenwein. Upon graduating from CIM, Haley was the recipient of the John Mack Award for Oboe. For her Bachelors Degree, Haley attended the University of Houston, where she studied with Adams Dinitz and Jonathan Fischer.
